My Attack
20 June, 2014
Author: Shan
Anxious passion
Runs inside
Clawing at my breath
As if it's trapped, I hear it cry
And will until my death
One deep inhalation
Focus! One breath, nice and slow
I see clearly right before release
Hold it there, now just let it go!
By the time all air is out
I feel every slowing beat
I close my eyes, and know it's going
To bring anxiety to peace
As this feeling lurks inside
Attached to the inside of my skin
Wrapped around my nerves
And hiding out til who knows when
I know I can just step back
Take a breath and start again
But damn anxiety attacks
Just when they're gone
They're there again
