Retesting The Waters

author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I look back to younger days
When my dreams were free
When there was nothing to interrupt
And nothing was there to corrupt
Blessed with a gift of music
But feeling too inferior to believe
That talent was really enough
Or if I could be strong and tough
Holding back my dreams dissolved
Into the immediate realities of the time
I had to act into accordance
To the things of more importance
I remember the excitement of those days
And look upon them once more
With the strength enough to go on
With the dreams once thought forgone
So time has come to remember
And to celebrate my given talent
Called upon to revisit the dream
To open my heart.. and once again to sing
