Erato

Author: David Russell
Oh Muse, you plunged me,
So I swam on;
Taunted and tempted me
In all my seeming weakness,
Forced me to score the ocean's miles,
Turned me to beauty muscle
Through my lusting
For your strong, full and supple form -
Thrust up my pectorals,
Brought them to the edge
Of your so-perfect breasts.
Teased me afire with golden laurels –
Now both of us are crowned.
Let all I learned to write, to paint,
Be poured into our bodies.
