Just Tired

Expert pretender,
Professional liar,
Everything is fine my love,
Mommy is just a little tired.

Find you shelter,
Make it home,
Convince little eyes,
There's beauty to behold.

Beg and borrow,
Plead and bum,
Smile big,
So you know its fun.

Lie about daddy,
He misses you too,
I don't know where he is baby,
But I bet he's back soon.

Swear there is magic,
I bet fairies are here,
Angels watch over us,
There's nothing to fear.

I count out my change,
But hey, who needs money?
Let mommy tell you a joke,
I promise its funny.

Yes, I saw the shoes,
On the boy at the park,
I bet he only wears them,
Cause he's scared of the dark.

Add water to milk,
Try to make it last,
No, mommy isn't hungry,
I don't want to get fat.

Color some pictures,
To decorate walls,
Praying for answers,
But god doesn't call.

Tuck in your shirt,
That's covered in stains,
Holes in your shoes,
Shoots ice through my vains.

Winter is brutal,
I chop wood for the fire,
I hope that we make it,
As your eyes lose their sparkle,

I watch you pretending,
That you don't know I'm a liar,
I swear that we'll make it,
Mommy's just tired.

nice

It's as if u were telling the story of how i grew up. My favorite line is when u say praying for answers but god doesn't call. Again...nice, very nice.
