My heart smiles in glee
With a special leap of faith
My soul sings in vigor
As I step into another age

A time I look forward to
A time I relish living
A time I hold myself up to
A time for joyful giving

I am grateful to my people
I am grateful to my life
I am grateful to the experiences
I am grateful to the time that flies

Life has been forgiving
Life has been kind
Life has taught me lessons
That are worth a goldmine

Love is a powerful force
That holds our tears and smiles
Prayer is the belief that we know
A thought that travels a million miles

A day that reminds me of a reason
I am delighted to celebrate this day
A reason to feel thrilled about
While a voice inside me says: 'Happy b'day
