Mother's Day is Sunday.
I wanted to write a poem about my mother.
I find that I am unable to do that.
I really didn't have the kind of relationship with her,
that would lend itself to being a piece of artwork of words,
or the kind of mother that most have had in their lives.
I have the same problem with Father's Day.
For me,
Mother's Day and Father's Day
have no personal meaning from the standpoint
of a son.
But I survived.
