Contemplative Time
5 December, 2015
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Sometimes i sit in my car
Enjoying the silence
No dogs, nor endless chatter
No pressures,
No wants or needs to fulfill
Just peaceful quiet
Unhampered stillness
A moment of time for me
A minute or two to unwind
Away from the hustle & bustle
Sometimes I long for this moment
Clearing of my thoughts
Imaginary conversations I would never have
Contemplative musings
Endless pondering
of why it matters
And why it shouldn't
But time comes to move on
Facing the barking of the dogs
Questioning of why I sat so long
Maybe they would understand,
Maybe not
For it was a time, not for them,
But only meant for me
------- Author's Notes -------
Sometimes the private alone time is a good thing. |

Meri (23.25.101.105) -- Monday, April 11 2016, 07:55 pm Hey Dreamer! How's it going? I could've wrote this poem. Man, if we don't share the same sentiments. Some folks don't understand that you'd like some me-time, some R&R and/or some time away from distractions and interruptions? I mean, is it a crime to be a hermit? Anyway, darn good poem! Hope all is well. |
