Dear Younger Me
2 January, 2016
Author: Pamela O'Brien
I know you are eager
To please everyone
To show the world what you are made of
And to find true love
But please.....don't rush.
Don't give endlessly without taking sometimes too
Years from now you will find yourself feeling empty because you have nothing left to give anymore
Don't give up on your dreams because they don't seem practical
Life is already full of practicalities, your dreams are the only thing left to get you through it all
Don't compromise too much in your relationships
Because although love does require it
If you give an inch they will take 10 miles and you will begin to feel powerless
Dear younger me,
Please don't make decisions out of fear or force yourself to always see the silver lining
You will eventually learn that it is ok to be afraid
And that sometimes even the brightest side can't defeat the darkness
But most of all.......slow down
Slow down younger me
There is no rush to get where you are going.......
There is nothing here but regret.
