Walking.....
16 January, 2016
Author: Shiloh
Walking, walking, walking,
and more walking.
No limping - and I don't weigh
as much as I weigh.
Just long hours of walking,
days of walking.....
Looking for the traffic lights
at intersections,
hoping that a bus comes by -
in any direction....
and more walking.
So tired of walking.
Seeing an area that looks familiar,
and taking a shortcut that looks familiar,
and just getting more and more lost
in doing that.
An hour, three hours, half a day goes by
in the space of a few minutes.
Wishing I had a cell phone with me,
but they haven't been invented yet.
Headed toward my aunt's house,
and she's fixing supper,
and now she's gone
and buried
in the space of a few steps,
and I'm so tired.
Just want to stop,
want to sit down, lay down.....
just so tired of walking.
I think I'm sleeping in bits of moments
as I'm walking....
I did that in the army while marching.
It would startle me when I focused
on where I was,
and I kept walking.
Now I'm so tired...
Physically and mentally
tired.
