Sweet Lies
3 March, 2004
Author: Emilee
Sweet lies of false hope and assurance you give me,
sweet lies of a love the seems neverending.
Sweet lies when you tell me your proud of me,
when you know I'm not what you want me to be.
Sweet lies when you say daddy's little girl,
when it seems likes we live in two different worlds.
Sweet lies coming out of that pretty boy's smile,
sweet lies but they make her life so worthwhile.
Sweet lies he tells her, but they sound so good,
and in the end, he'd surely take them back of he could.
The lies aren't so sweet when she ends up hurting,
sweet lies, sweet love letters that she ends up burning.
Sweet lies of a friendship that ends up betrayed,
sweet lies when they use you, and you just feel played.
Sweet lies when they smile, but don't say a word,
and their message is always so clearly heard.
Sweet lies of the ones you needed the most,
they forgot you when you left, you're memory became a ghost.
Sweet lies of a girl who has no one,
she smiles as her life becomes completely undone.
Sweet lies of the ones you loved when you needed them,
and they weren't there, they just turned their backs again.

Meridian (205.188.116.144) -- Saturday, March 20 2004, 03:22 pm This is the part of life that hurts! Sweet lies that sound so sweet and convincing; but yet they're not truthful. This is a poem that grabbed my attention! I also love this poem because it sends out a warning and a wake-up call to those, who are still unaware of what's really going on. Standing ovation, Emilee! |
