Come Out To Play
30 October, 2016
Author: Seizure
Sitting in your room, hear the sounds of the night
Everyone is sleeping, the moon is shining bright
Looking at the leaves as the breeze whistles on
Spreading them out all over the lawn
The evening's relaxed, so you want to partake
You decide to go to the tree by the lake
You grab your coat and head into the grass
Suddenly you're stopped by a feeling from the past
You start to feel a chill but you don't know why
Looking up, clouds cover the sky
Crickets and frogs stop singing their song
You want to turn back, something must be wrong
You turn around but your house isn't there
No one is around you, something's moving your hair
You hear the sounds of children as the fog sets in
It's time to play, so let's begin
Everywhere you turn, everything looks the same
You're not just lost, you can't remember your name
You tripped on a root now your falling down
Laughter surrounds you as you hit the ground
As you're getting up you can see that your hands
Are starting to fade away, this you don't understand
A whisper calls your name so you turn to the right
Glowing red eyes pierce straight through the night
The figure draws closer, so you back away
The children call again, (don't you want to play?)
You run all you can until you lose the sound
Until you stumble into an abandoned playground
You suddenly feel shorter, like you're five-years-old
Standing in the cold, doing what you're told
The children now appear and you recognize your peers
Now you're here forever so let go of your fears
