Alone

Author: Eric Miller
Why should I even try,
When I know the road that's ahead of me.
No matter what I say, do, or think,
I'm destined to live this life in agony.
I feel like I put all of my effort,
Into all the wrong things, now I know.
Trying to solve everyone else's problems,
While struggling everyday with my own.
I tried to save everyone else,
While my heart slowly rotted away.
Nowhere for me to turn to,
That's why I no longer think I can stay.
This pain that's come over me,
Has finally gotten my best.
Trying only to survive this time,
Knowing if I don't what come's next.
Now I'm thinking all this is finally over,
As I pick my head up for the last time.
I can't do all this again,
My body won't take the punishment for the crime.
