Why should I even try,
When I know the road that's ahead of me.
No matter what I say, do, or think,
I'm destined to live this life in agony.

I feel like I put all of my effort,
Into all the wrong things, now I know.
Trying to solve everyone else's problems,
While struggling everyday with my own.

I tried to save everyone else,
While my heart slowly rotted away.
Nowhere for me to turn to,
That's why I no longer think I can stay.

This pain that's come over me,
Has finally gotten my best.
Trying only to survive this time,
Knowing if I don't what come's next.

Now I'm thinking all this is finally over,
As I pick my head up for the last time.
I can't do all this again,
My body won't take the punishment for the crime.

stay....

Eric, your words in this were very touching..remember..we are the ones that can help ourselves. we know when it hurts and know what to do to relieve that pain..i always use my patients that have had a stroke as an example..i ask them to help me and themselves out ,by holding their flacid side (the side they neglect and forget about),because they think that it has no feeling, but it does..and only they know how much pain they can tolerate..as to where ,if i was to hold it, i may be putting more pressure than need be..in other words there is always HOPE.. don't loose FAITH...thanx for sharing a powerful poem..Terrie*
