Just A Small Braining
24 November, 2016
Author: Shiloh
Ma was one to chew on old peanut husks
as she worked,
alternating her chaw
from one cheek to the other,
and sometimes spittin' a bit out
at the chickens
that were always pesterin' at her feet
'til they like to drove her
off the back side of a cow critter,
but she was gangy,
that woman was,
and she never skirted her mind
up some'eres near to scraggly,
no never none at all,
and she could fathom a chore
with the best of 'em
and make both ends meet
in the middle of the string
without so much
as touchin' nothin' else, too.
She was a pisser, that one!
