The Invasion Comes....
11 December, 2016
Author: Shiloh
The invaders hold back....
waiting for the rest to arrive,
waiting for those who would join them
and then, together move forward,
slowly at first,
quietly and without warning of the power they bring,
the strength they are building,
the surprise they will offer,
and the sheer and massive collection
of them all,
over all,
and how they will bring the homeland
to its knees.
I have seen the first,
as they come to scout the areas
that they will land in,
falling silently from above,
like the deathly quiet of fog,
or of thoughts.
They are coming.
We know that,
and we have an idea when and where,
but we have no defense against them,
no way to stop them,
and some of us -
some of us actually look forward to the invasion.
There are those among us who do not see this
as a bad thing.
For years, for decades, for centuries,
the same sort of invasion has taken place
at different times
and at different places,
and it always brings the same impact,
and no matter how we try,
how we plan,
what sort of defenses we have,
still they come,
and still they continue,
year after decade after age upon age...
still.....
it snows.
