A Snow Petal
31 December, 2016
Author: Pondering Red
This year,
a mere speckle in the galaxies of infinity,
erupted like a volcanoe and as in centuries past,
spewed lava on to the earth’s surface,
while the relaxing sounds of nature
continued to soothe.
Yin and Yang toppled
as humankind struggled to retain
a perfect balance, some kind of balance.
It was a seesaw year once more,
as always
as before
as in the past.
In her little world it is snowing
powdery icing sugar.
In her snow globe
she struggles to keep her balance,
often sliding, at times almost falling.
There is no absolute solution.
We can all learn from the wisdom of ancestors,
expand the mind, keep steady,
believe in goodness,
Today she saw a snow petal
fall and land on her coat.
She smiled
and knew deep in her heart
that there is still some wonder and hope
in store for the New Year.
