Back Again
26 May, 2003
Author: Eric Miller
I'm in that place again,
The place I thought I got rid of before.
Now you brought me back here,
Making me wonder, "Why can't we ever be more?"
"Hey, how are you,"
Is that all that is shared between you and me?
I wish that you could be with me,
But for now I wait, because I know it can't be.
You're with my best friend,
But does that mean I have to feel happy for you?
Why is the one thing that makes you the happiest,
Tears my heart in two?
This might be the last thing you want to hear,
Especially coming from me.
Just another guy likes you,
But it's not just another guy, this time it's me.
I'll keep my feelings hidden,
Until you come and walk my way.
Now I'll pray to God above,
So maybe he will turn the present into that day.
