29 March 2017 - Vietnam Veterans Day
29 March, 2017
Author: Shiloh
I have been there a few times,
and I know that I will never get there again,
but the value of my visits stays with me.
There are friends there that I knew,
friends that I miss,
and I sometimes wonder at the fact
that I made it home,
while they did not.
We were young,
we were naive,
we were there.
Some of us,
though we came home,
are still there.
The impact of The Wall
hits hardest in twilight....
The view of The Wall is valuable
and important to so many.
For those who made it home,
walking or carried,
"Welcome Home."
For those who are yet lost back there...
I pray we will find you.
~peace....
