Just Sue

Author: Shiloh
She was the first that I trusted,
out of all of them.
So many times I tried —
to explain,
to understand,
to share the thoughts and fears
that ruled my world...
I thought that I was just nuts.
Didn't know why,
but I knew I wasn't the way
that I should have been.
Then I met Sue.
She didn't judge.
At least, she didn't show it,
if she did.
She just listened,
and sometimes she would question,
but slowly,
even carefully,
she made me see myself
as I was.
She made me understand.
Yes, it hurt,
and it confused me,
and it finally made sense.
Then I started to heal.
I'm still working on that,
and while it's a long road,
it's a good ride.
