Picture Perfect

Author: Meridian Zuriel
It's like Alice in Wonderland
I put my hand through the mirror
And the image becomes clearer
I look back
To the dimension from whence I came
And quickly turn my attention back to
A mesmerizing view
If I chose to reverse to
The former universe
The portal's always open
Which is neither better nor worse
Still I choose this "planet" first
I breathe in the air and go ham
Not caring the age I am
Maturity and common sense
Is unknown to man in a land of innocence
It's untouched like the Garden of Eden
Before Adam and Eve
Before the serpent would deceive
Before eyes were open to conceive
Before reason, logic and morale
Before ethics - when all was naive
Illustrations don't do it justice
It's much better than make-believe
Nature nurtures like a cocoon
As a balloon drifts high in the sky
So am I too hypnotized
To shake a feeling so strong
Not that I wanted to
Be a killjoy and subdue
I feel so welcome and invited
Accepted - because I belong
Nothing could go wrong
A perfect picture to a song
As a music lover I see
Nature anyway
This is just a manifestation of
The pictures I see everyday via wordplay
Peace forever
The other fruits are not too far behind
If there ever was a thing to treasure
Then it would be peace of mind
Hakuna matata
Without the Lion King
Freedom not prompted by protests
A story with neither plot nor quest
No such thing as a test
Just a heart swelled within a chest
My destination, now complete
The log cabin, where I'll retreat
