Music And Emotions

Wrote a poem, wrote a song
And before long started to become personal
Now the world knows and has seen
Inside my house,
They didn't even need a photo
To identify my spouse

I wrote about it.

Got carried away, called myself ventin'
Said too much, exposed myself repentin'
Guess it's kind of hard to not use mood
Maybe not air dirty laundry,
But with emotions it's easy to include
Next thing you know, it's out there
In the studio, writing away to share
Life's peaks can either bring out
The best or worst of a musician
Lyrics just revealing as recipients listen

So how do you take the emotion from the music
Or the music from the emotion
To not get too involved
I guess with experience, you evolve
Change perspective and outlook
Growth and healing is what it took
Rather than letting the emotion overwhelm
And consume you like a crook
Take possession of your dignity and integrity
No longer about the wealth and pressure
That comes with being a celebrity
So that next time when it comes to motivation
It's less retaliation and more inspiration
And above all, education
Not to mention salvaging reputation
Serving as positive influence
To all of God's creations
And those to be of future generations
When the artist is gone
The music will serve as dedication
And will play with continuation
For someone that appreciates optimism
In a not-so-positive world and nation
