Do something nice, lend a hand
And you want something more
You do something nice for me
And I thank you like before
But I don't owe an explanation
Or other than what I give
I've always believed in helping out
That's what life's all about
I don't owe any free time or any reason
As to why I don't want to hang out
Jeez, please Louise
I'd like to sleep and catch some z's
A day off is needful in between first and third
How I want to spend a Saturday is my biz
I tell you again, yet you hear not a word

Because you hear what you want to
You want it your way like Burger King
Cry when you can't deal with rejection
My answer is not the one you're expectin'
Feels like I'm under a microscope
You're too busy inspectin'
How did good deeds turn into quid pro quo
You're out of bounds, every appearance into town
Anything other than professional is a no go
What the heck, what happened to respect
I mean darn, is it that hard to come correct
Breeze can be shot minus the personal convo
But you believe you're above boundaries
Your pride won't let you let it go
Retaliation is sure to follow at the word 'no'
If you don't get what you want
Then it's Hell to pay
It never was supposed to turn out this way

You believe you're God
Above leaving well enough alone
The word uncomfortable might as well mean condone
Despite the implied through attitude and tone
And I know the wall is the only one hearing me
But for what it's worth
Speaking peace is closure and a necessity
Sort of like healing and growth
Into the woman I am today
Tough and strong as God allows me each day
To wake up, rejoice and be glad
And overcome by not giving you the satisfaction
Of seeing me neither sad nor mad
You don't deserve those emotions
It's a wrap, despite your notion
Of seeing me as but a crumb
Someone to keep under your thumb
Feeding lines I've heard since '97
Ain't nothing new,
In fact, stuff gets old real quick
If I let him, only Beelzebub is that slick
Been up the sleeve so much
That there are no more tricks

Two grown folks can have a good time
But when it's time to call it a day, call it one
Crickets chirpin is the cue
That the conversation is done
Displaying the right intention
Will manifest itself
Lying that "you're just out to help"
I'm young, but I won't born last night
Misused and abused authority ain't right
Aggressive, cause you like control
Real help doesn't oppress the soul
Like a lion, lying in wait for the next prey
More than words could ever convey
Bullies who are only brave
To the small in stature and the weak in strength
Having to prove themselves to such a great length
Because of peer pressure and impressions
Tempted to teach someone a lesson
Reputation's on the line to take such self-expression
Contrite self-reflection is too much of a confession
