A Sad Goodbye
22 January, 2003
Author: Everett
(co-authored by: LinzAy)
Death breaks through a cold January sky.
Breaks through the Darkened clouds.
Soft winds scream a silent goodbye.
As life is disavowed.
Shadows crawl up through the ground.
Slowly suffocating light.
They cover our eyes from a truth which cant be found.
Relating everything we see to the darkness of night.
Endless thoughts drift through the air.
Thoughts of a sudden death-an abrupt stop to life.
These thoughts bring nothing but despair.
And despair brings nothing to mortality but pain and strife.
Rain falls from the black sky above.
As hard and fast as these tears do that fall from our eyes
They wash away everything we once loved.
Making us say such sorrowful goodbyes.
All these emotions are hard to defend.
Nobody understands them, they say they don't makes any sense.
A heavy silence surrounds us as we prepare for the end.
Saying goodbye - our only defense.
