Modesty, Or Not

Man if I don't chuckle when writing this
First off, it's a blessing to age
And while it's good to be modest
After Father Time, I mean,
There's nothing new under the sun
Especially where it doesn't shine
From the - well, you know -
To the behind
When we can no longer do
What we were once able to
How come we are too stubborn
To let the nurses do
Their job
Believe me
He or she
Will not get a thrill
Out of seeing what's left
While independence is both
understood and admired
As seniors we forget
How easily we get tired
How weak we've gotten
How frail we've become
We say within ourselves
That we can do it ourselves
How long before modesty
Takes a back seat
When it comes to health care
That's why the aides are there
