JULIET!
Juliet…. It’s just the same as it was,
Only thing’s changed are the ones on the stage,
I have stepped in for Romeo,
And I have rewritten my ending,
And yours, as well.
Better to suffer the memories
Than to snuff them out, snuff them away.
At minimum,
I will enjoy them with coffee.
Contemplation, thoughts of what if,
To the tune of a good cup of coffee…
There are times when it all comes down to a cup,
And the cup,
If sufficient,
Warms the soul, the heart, the mind…
Takes away the hurts,
The pains,
The tears,
And makes it all better again…
At least for a little while…
But don’t count on it lasting for long.
There are things that even coffee,
Or a kitten,
Cannot overcome, cannot snuff out…
Those things we must learn to live around,
Live on the edges of them,
Accept them
As you would a bad neighbor.
Just play your Doors albums
Really loudly,
With the speakers in the windows facing him,
And – who the hell knows?
And what?
And nothing. Nothing matters.
Not any more.
Screw it.
All of it. Totally. All of it.
