So Mot It Be...

Author: Shiloh
I thought of you,
and my mind was speared
by those sharp points
that are normally held in abeyance
because of the strength they possess
the ability to pierce, with prejudice,
directed inward,—
to maim the heart and mind,
to cause one to fall to one’s knees
in great pain
and in supplication,
seeking only shelter from all of it,
seeking only relief from all of it,
seeking only understanding of all of it….
in useless acts of pleading, prayer, or hope…
because it will not give anything
in the way of comfort,
in the way of relief,
in the way of exhausted collapse…
Nay,
the suffering must continue,
must continue,
must go on, and on, and on…
until madness overtakes oneself,
until madness consumes oneself,
until maddnes becomes the only sanity
that is now known or understood,
and is therefore now accepted
as the reality
of how things are,
of how things will be,
of how things have been,
of how things must be honored
and endured.
There is no other option.
That is all that is left,
no other avenue is open.
