Before I - I Am

before
I,
there were birds and song
and it was the best of times
and the worst
the agony and the ecstacy
the forests stood tall
the circle of life
spun around
as did the earth
and other planets
as I floated in between new born and dying stars
in and around
the silence
and the light and the darkness
of the spaces and the
spaces in between
receiving messages
that I did not understand yet
from ancestors
and a family tree that was
indeed a forest
and the yin and the yang
of evolving awareness and shifts in parafigm
even
in other earthly realms
where experiences
are passed from the great great and greatest grandmothers,
the world
greeted I
with newness and warmth
I awaken to birdsong
and
as I step outside and walk amidst
greenery and the richness of life all around -
I am
