SOON ENOUGH…

Soon enough, though, he grew up.
From the little boy with his shy smile,
unsure of things,
questioning things,
wondering things…
worrying about things,-
he grew up.
Slowly, at first,
but he stuck with it.
He took some crazy turns
on that scary road called Life,
but he stuck with it.
Soon enough,
he grew.
He never really caught himself
growing up.
Never really knew it was happening…”
when it happened.
Initially, during, or after –
he just never knew, or caught it.
Soon enough, though,
it happened.
I guess seven decades is soon enough.
It was for me.
Actually, it is still happening today.
And I am still learning,
still discovering,
starting to understand things.
That’s also scary –
lots of impact in all of that.
I think I’m glad I didn’t catch it back then,
back when it was happening so fast,
because it would have scared hell out of me.
I had enough other things to do that,
and didn’t need to have anything added.
It’s bad enough to have to think, today…
and thinking can be scary.
Better to not worry or think,
or try to figure anything out…
Just let it happen?
Yes, because what can you do about it,
anyway?

Soon enough it will be done.
