"What makes a poem good?"
If it gives one pause,
so they stop and think,
or they consider it
for the value of the words therein,
if they learn from it,
even a small bit of education
concerning the subject,
then it is good.
They (the readers)
should appreciate the poem
for the value of its content,
its humour,
or the experience of learning
something from it.
If at least one of those points
take place, then it is,
indeed, a good poem.
