Scratched Record
8 September, 2020
Author: Pondering Red
be here now
and you were here
in this city
on our street
in our room
for awhile
for less than a blink of an eye
your records scratched by the needle
you brought
to inject loneliness
into the apartment
the small cubicle
with metal over the windows
to not let burglars in
to keep out happiness
be here now
mindful moments disappeared
the only memory of those years
has drifted into deep space
collapsed near a black hole
too bad
the scent of that era
of promise and changes
is lost
could have been wondrous
