Eaten Alive
8 November, 2020
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Eaten Alive by the virus that hasn't touched me
My life changed
Cold and unfeeling
No smiles seen
No hugs or touches
Forever changed
By circumstances beyond my control
I move without making any steps
Going forward as if on a treadmill of life
Just existing in one place
I play the game
Hiding from humanity
Incognito behind my mask
I lock myself down in wait
For a result of not having anything wrong
Extrovert forced to introversity
I do not prosper
Optimist now pessimistic
Dark and foreboding
Tomorrows lost in nothingness
I see not, any happiness
I know nothing about anything
For futures lost in political gains
In my silent alone-ness
I am not alone.
------- Author's Notes -------
Even though this virus has not touched me in a physical form, I am sure I am not alone in it touching the very soul of my being. My hope that soon it will be over. And life will move in a "looking forward" manner again. |

Dreamer (107.133.200.6) -- Tuesday, December 8 2020, 03:47 am The covid can be very scary for those who get it or have to wait on the results to see if they have it or not. Mental, glad she didn't have it.. I just hate how it has changed so much of life. Especially visiting relatives, and holidays.. Thanks for reading :) |
