On Writing by Shiloh

As the words are written,
Poetry is akin to birth â€“
To write for others to read
Is to give birth so others may know,
And the joys of sharing minds
Is beyond any description
Which would enable one to undestand
The purity of the attempt
To raise awareness or to give pause
So others might consider and weigh
The value of the words
Being in front of them.

I believe you are wrong on your assessment of your poem. It speaks the truth about writing in general.. It is to give pause to the reader in contemplation of what was written, and gives them pause to think of how it fits into their way of thinking.
