Striving For Perfection
18 May, 2021
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Striving for perfection, not one of which to share
But one I achieve for myself
Silence of that which I crave
To be.. to feel.. to know
That which only I can
To fight the dragons that come before me
Overcoming their fiery deaths
To allow me the solitude
Of the destiny that stands before me
Searching for that, which only I can truly understand
I am inspired, without regret
Without sorrow of loss
Even though love implores the abandon
I desire a loss of something never captured
Exposing the truth of all of my kind
The passions that guide us in our directions
Whether right or wrong we follow the desires
Driven to ambitions we may never realize
Swept away by dreams of no matter
A beauty in the burning of the unrequited
Influencing my pen to the nature of the dance
Lingering in the places I have never been
I dream, evolving the heartbeat of realities unseen
Focus moves to the unchanging dramatic pause...
The magic in the dancing to the music
of the the trees, of the wind
Mirages of the spirit
A tunnel vision of the light abounding
A comfort in creating the perfections I seek
To find the perfections of the immortal
A perspective of sorts
That we each seek, but few find
The abandonment of the other's reality
A place where our own realities begin again
To love, and be loved
The deepest quest of courage
Found only within
