One Headlight Out
22 July, 2021
Author: Shiloh
BETWEEN Then and Now….
FROM Then to Now…
It’s been a long ride,
Some smiles, some tears,
Apprehension with my fears,
Something’s still missing,
I’m not finished yet.
Still a long ride ahead…
Raining,
the old blacktop shines back at me…
So,- more than a bit of concern.
One headlight out.
The road seems familiar,
But I’ve never been down it before.
The curves are frightening,
and the drops
from the edge of the road
are totally unreal.
No way to survive such a fall.
No way to make it
To the end of that road
at any speed.
One headlight out.
