Set My Horses Free
21 July, 2003
Author: George Mudge
When at last my mortal work is done,
And my days have dwindled down to one,
Hang my saddle on the bunkhouse wall,
Mark well the day of this Wrangler's fall
Place my silver spurs upon my chest,
Lower me down in my grave to rest.
Then while they pray some words over me,
Go out and set all my horses free.
