On The Edge
3 April, 2022
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I walk to the edge of the cliff
to speak to the wind
I breath deep the misty air
listening for an answer
Wind blowing in my hair
I contemplate the inevitable
I know it is not for me to choose
As I look to the waves below
The waves crash hard against the rocks
I watch the angry beauty and strength
Prevailing against the onslaught
Perhaps changed but in tact
I turn away, hair blowing back into my face
The answer, it's heard loud and clear
Though times are tough and change will happen
I will prevail against the forces put before me
