The Real World

Fear not the political upheaval
We will survive and live no matter their choices
It is hard when your hands are tied
You feel helpless and unheard

Rebellion is only a thought of the normal adult
Bought and paid for, upheaval is for the cities
Run by the bureaucrats that think they know us
When all they know is how to spend and destroy

"We will finish the job" they say
They have to finish destroying what is
So they can "build back better"
At least in their minds

While the green new deal fills their pockets
We the people watch closer our pennies.
Common sense knows this will never work
Yet we are forced to watch them play their game

They teach our kids that wrong is right
While they steal away their innocent childhood
They make the world seem like an ugly place
Small and controlled behind closed doors

They call it the opposite of what it is
Lazy ignorance believes the cover of the book, they fail to read
How can they tell me how to live a life they have never lived
Where the one is more important than the thousands

Colors don't matter in the day in day out world
Peoples sex lives should be behind closed doors
All politicians should have term limits
They should not be able to spend beyond their budget

But we go on, day in, day out repeat
And we survive, no matter their lies
The everyday people will have their day
Our eyes are open, and focused on real life
