The Pedestal
24 July, 2024
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I no longer sit on the pedestal you placed me on
For I am not that perfection
I was never the infallible person that you seen.
I am only human, as any human can be
Suddenly, you fault me
for being not who you seen me as.
My mistakes un-forgiven, when I had forgiven you yours
I am only me
The pedestal you put me on has fallen over.
the foundation cracked.
the beauty that was once there
is still there, just amended
The reality of my perfection was only a reflection,
and reflections lie, when the truth is real
I am not the perfection in the reflection on the pedestal
I am only a human.
But, I forgive you for putting me up there
upon the pedestal, that was never meant for me.
