My Walk

Not even all the power within me can make me say,
All these thoughts inside my head as if they're being saved for a rainy day.
Held down by the chains of sin,
Marching on letting satan win.
I've opened the doors that took so long to break,
then I boarded them shut because of a little heartache.
I've lived this way thinking things will change,
Then I see it's not me, It's my life I need to re-arrange.
I've been handed this plate of hope,
And I've drowned my dirty words in a river of soap.
Nothing goes my way,
I wonder what's next on this game of life we play.
The silent stalker that crushes my dreams,
The sweet talker who's not what he seems.
There's so much to un-fold,
My heads a mess and my thoughts too bold.
I can't look at my face anymore,
I turn around and there's my boarded up door.
It hurts so much to know I'm dying inside,
The little girl in me wants to run and hide.
Not this time, the stakes too big.
I'm standing tall and freeing my soul,
I'm first in line to make something a go,
I'm first in line with nothing to show.

Elaboration!

I like how you express so much in your poetry!
You're an expert at this!
