My Way
8 January, 2004
Author: Holly A. Badolato
I heard a song on the radio
It made me think of you,
It made me wonder if you’re here,
It made me think of those crazy things you do.
I thought of that day,
When we crashed the car
I knew we shouldn’t have drank,
We didn’t go that far.
You asked him not to drive,
You asked me not to yell,
I didn’t listen to you
You were as clear as a bell
I wanted things my way,
I didn’t care for you,
There were 5 people in the car,
And not one of them had a clue
Collin died instantly,
You were rushed away,
You didn’t look so good,
But we thought that you were ok.
They told us that you needed checked
I didn’t want to leave his side,
You told me you would be ok
But as you know you lied
You didn’t want to hurt me
You loved me more than ever
You were my best friend,
And now your gone forever
You only wanted the best for me,
You didn’t want me to be sad,
You said that it would all be over soon
But that just made me mad
I came in to see you
On that cold September day
They told me that you were not here
Because things had to go my way.
