Three Years Ago

Today was three years ago,
When you took your life away,
When you told me that you had to go,
You told me you couldn’t stay.

I went to school three years ago,
I remember it so clear
How everyone told me you were dead.
How they said you were not here.

I called your house three years ago,
To listen to your voice,
To hear you say anything,
Any word of your choice.

I cried a tear three years ago,
Because I had to grieve,
Because you didn’t want to stay
But because you had to leave.

I watched the T.V three years ago,
Not caring what was on,
I didn’t want to think of you,
I wanted it to be gone.

I took a shower three years ago,
Trying to wash away my tears,
Trying to help me get away,
From all I had to fear.

I went to sleep three years ago,
So drunk from all I drank
I didn’t know what to do,
My mind was a blank

I dreamt a dream three years ago
Of me and you together
Of all the wonderful times we had
And that we’d have forever.

So now three years later,
I’m fighting that same fight
The one that tells me your not around,
On this horrible night.

So listen here if you can hear me,
I promise this to you,
From that day three years ago,
I still remember you.

The Truth

This poem (by me) is acctually about a friend of mine. He committed suicide and i wanted to write this poem to show people that you shouldnt forget someone after their gone...whether is 1 day or 100 years. And cherish your friends and loved ones...you never know when something will happen...

Very good

That is very touching and a very good example of how you should not forget someone you care about.
