Ode To Amy
9 November, 2002

Amy,golden locks without a key
i thought i was the one, emotionally
truth be told, u found another
evidently i was just that- another.
Whether by land-line or goody box
i assumed i was master-key to yo' locks
Strangely enough we fit like a glove
promising eachother passionate love.
Spurless and clueless in Big Country
sticking out like a big ole' oak tree
nevertheless, making me feel welcome
with yo' suthern hospitality,awesome.
I'll never forget a gentle tap at the door
only to find the one i been looking for
The awkwardness didn't last too long
because it was here i knew i belong.
We both made mistakes and bid ado
but this time u said - i do.
Not to me but another
how i only wish it was us together.
How many times have u said kwwipissh
Oh, how i remember shopping for fish
You kicked my butt in bowling
Yet you kept me howling.
You drove me over the singing bridge
an echo of texas still in my head
a lullabuy i play back before bed
or as i look upon your pic on my fridge
Forever linked to abilene
a place i've never before seen
all because of a lass with golden locks
that melted my heart here in the ROCK!
