Nervousness
28 April, 2001
Author: Karen
A girl steps out
Onto the stage,
Her first time without
A written page.
A feeling is aroused
So big and so strong,
The little girl wonders,
"Can I carry on?"
It begins in her gut,
And creeps up her spine,
It fills up her head
And controls her mind.
She aches in knowing
This fear's grown too much,
But finds that her heart
Is unscathed and untouched.
She gathers her courage
From deep down inside
And starts to perform.
What has she got to hide?
This little girl has shown us
How much we are blessed
To be able to overcome
nervousness.
