A Simple Wish
27 May, 2001
Author: Karen
Do you wish that sometimes
Time would just stand still;
That everything would freeze in place
And do it all by will?
I felt that way on my first date,
And that I'll really miss.
I just wanted time to stop
In the middle of my first kiss.
Later on when our love faded,
And I was on the brink of losing him,
I wanted time to come to a halt
So our love wouldn't dim.
Now is when I realize that
Time moves on for a reason,
Day by day, month by month,
Season after season.
It's because not everything
Is really meant to be.
Some things are just for kicks
And, eventually, are set free.
