Darlin'
25 March, 2002
Author: Karen R. Springer
I hear you call me Darlin';
The word seems to take a hold
Of that inside ice that keeps me nice
And let's me feign I'm cold.
I hear you call me Darlin'
And my face will sometimes flush;
For I find my mind is thinking thoughts
That could make longshoremen blush.
I hear you call me Darlin'
And the devil in me grins.
I want to cover you with kisses
And feel you on my skin.
I hear you call me Darlin'
And I'm smitten to the core.
So for pity's sake, cut me a break
And, Darlin', don't call me Darlin' anymore.
