When Fate
18 October, 2003
Author: Kaycee
When I no longer care to know my breath
Is bringing life to thoughts yearning for death;
Or that my heart is emotionally bound
By my mind that has so carefully drowned
All hope in a river of unseen tears
Flowing between the death valley of fears
That empties into dawning's tomorrow
And washes souls shallow shores with sorrow;
Or that my face is a fleshy gravestone
Stain with tears and standing starkly alone
Behind the backdrop of futures curtain
The spiritual stage of life uncertain;
Then I will lie down and quietly wait.
Until I receive the birth of life’s fate
II
When I no longer care to know my life
Is filled with sorrows unwordable strife;
Or my unseen wall that’s been built from birth
Year upon year will now fall to the earth;
Leave me naked by the lone living death
That freezes minds eyes with its searing breath
'Till the soul can no longer bare the pain
Of knowing it will rein all thought inane;
Or that my memories yet to be heard
Remain alone and frightfully disturbed
Behind the innocence of clearful blue eyes-
Where truth begins- there that wills truth still lies;
Then I will lie down and quietly wait
Until I receive the birth of life’s fate.
