If Only I Could Fly
28 February, 2004
Author: Keith
I can see the beautiful sky
Alit with burning fire
A wonder of the world
Just rising over the horizon
I imagine myself flying free in its warmth
Embracing the beauty of beginnings
Soaring to greet the future
If only I could fly
The sky has turned to a shade of blue
Much like the color of the ocean waves
White clouds drifting in formation
Floating elegantly to the east
I wish I could fly amongst them
Embracing the beauty of what is
Floating in my new found place
If only I could fly
The sky turns to fire
Burning away what once was
Giving its farewell to an end
The sun slowly sinks in the distance
It smile as it reveals its final beauty
I wish I could fly into its welcoming arms
Accompanying it on its slow descent
Its final resting place under the horizon
If only I could fly
