Starring At The Moon
8 August, 1978
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I sit here staring at the moon
It's so full, and shines so brightly
I wonder, its been there so long
How many lovers took their lives
With their own hands
And I wonder if the moon just watched them die.
The days, they grow much shorter now
And the air so frosty with dew
I wonder exactly how long
I will be here without you
And I wonder if the moon looks upon you
I know it's getting colder now
And my life, it's come, its gone
And if you are out there looking
Please come, and I'll be true
Cause the moon will shine upon you
I sit here in the dark of night
And the moon, it sits there laughing
It's hiding some hidden secret
But I'll find it before I die
And the moon light will still shine upon you
I sit here staring at the moon
It's so full and shines so brightly
I wonder, its been there so long
How many lovers took their lives
With their own hands
And I wonder, if the Moonlight watched them die.
