Saying Goodbye
24 October, 2003
Author: KitKatrina
Everyday I find myself thinking of you,
Lost in this world of mine not knowing what to do,
My eyes are always crying out for you dad,
They never know when to be happy only when to be sad,
I have a locket that holds your hair and a picture of your face,
I hold it near in times of need and in any given place,
It’s like I have a part of you with me all the time,
It makes me feel connected and it also helps me rhyme,
I used to write these poems for you almost every day,
They are slowing down though because I have nothing else to say,
It’s already been a year, 4 months, and 7 days,
My life is turning into one blurry haze,
All I can do is cry and dream about you at night,
Whatever I have to do for you to be in sight,
People tell me to get over it but there is no way,
In my head and in my heart is where you will stay,
Yes, I will try not to think of you as much,
Only because that feeling I get drives me nuts,
Rest In Peace daddy, I love you and goodbye,
I will make you proud, or at least I will try…

Ben (67.123.244.245) -- Monday, October 27 2003, 07:38 am No way, KitKatrina is right. I really ralate to this poem as someone who has lost both mother and father to death. You really never do stop missing someone you love who has passed away. And, as the father of a daughter who writes poetry, I think I can safely say that you are a writer, a daughter a Dad would be proud of. I know I enjoy your expression and appreciate your God given talent! I thank you for your poetry and I'm sure many more do as well! Thank you again for this poem about a daughter's love for her Dad! ***Ben |
