Memory Lane
11 August, 2003
Author: KitKatrina
I always take trips down Memory Lane,
But all of the sudden it's become so plain,
You were the one, who walked next to me,
Now I look to my side, and nothing is what I see,
Your hand would be in hand with mine,
Together we walked feeling fine,
Now I look down at my hands and see,
A spirit, a soul, just flying free,
Your body may not be here anymore,
But you are here just like before,
It still makes me sad to not walk with you,
Looking back on the memories and what we would do,
But for some reason I'm not always sad,
Because I know that I had a great dad,
At first I was angry that God took you,
I was without a dad and didn't know what to do,
All I know now is you are happy and free,
And that is the way it will always be,
We will meet again in heaven I know,
Until that time I'll just let you go,
Walking down that road without you is still plain,
But I will always take trips down Memory Lane!
