These Four Walls

These four walls
swallowing me
the iron bars
you choose not to see
im screaming
violently thrashing
silent tears streaming
warning lights flashing
why do you lock me in a cage
your chains and ropes
just tie down the rage
i lay in hopes
of better days
go ahead- dismiss it as a phase
adding to the list of fail
now watch my eyes glaze
overprotected
and feared
your simplicity has nothing but infected
the child you once reared
watch me whither away
my last claw mark along the wall
i knelt down and prey
for the death of a soul as i crawl
now quickly take
that key
and burn me at the stake
and just let me be
these four walls
swallowing me
